he is a pirate, in the theme of it,
not the action kind but in spirit.
he sails the seas of sorrowed souls,
he plays his part in these scattered roles.
he carved an 'X' across my heart,
he took his knife and marked the spot.
a pointed finger to the thin red lines:
'there is where her treasure lies,
the secret to her ultimate demise,
there is where i'll make her mine.'
and i bit my lip as he tore into my tide,
as he anchored his ship deep inside.
